Epower’s learn from the best 2.9
Obafemi Awolowo University
16-28TH  JULY 2012
THEOFFICIAL REPORT
Epower’s learn from the best [an ICT training program] was indeed a worthwhile, absolutely inspiring, and completely unforgettable experience.
The ‘movie’ initially scheduled to be ‘shot’ at yellow house, had to be moved first to BOOC, then to History and finally to English dept [topmost floor] due to power challenges.
First came the scholarship test [Sunday, 15thJuly, 3pm, BOOC]
A 20 min/20 question test which saw five champions emerge[Ife Olla, Matthew Mayaki, Muvukor Adoniram, Jekoyemi Funminiyi and Samuel Ajibola] winning scholarships [actually discounts] of varying amounts.
Then, a total of 30 students registered for one or two courses ranging from Graphics, Video editing, AutoCAD and web-design to Laptop engineering, Peachtree, Java and Flash animation.
These 30 students were treated to the finest instructors ever in persons of:

Ogunbowale Olugbenga [C.E.O/Lead facilitator]          GRAPHICS
Oyeniran Femi                                                             VIDEO EDITING
Alagbe Sola                                                                WEB-DESIGN/LAPTOP ENGINEERING
Oduronbi Temitayo                                                     JAVA/PEACH TREE/FLASH
Demola O.A.                                                               AutoCAD
And guest facilitators including:
Emorinken Moses                                                          Branding
Familoni Tayo                                                              Extreme Creativity
All students were trained in the areas of branding and extreme creativity as a bonus for registering, and were treated to refreshments.
The training sessions went just as expected: Fabulous, Fantastic and Challenging.
The normal lecture periods were arrived at as a compromise between the facilitators and the students so there were no complaints.
The learning approach was thoroughly enjoyable as it was blended: projectors, board markers, previous works and video tutorials were freely used. Class works, group works, assignments and final exams were taken in all classes.
The best students in each class were given special recognition and/or different prizes
On the last day of the training, certificates were given out to both students and facilitators and several photographs were taken.
As adduced by our students, classes were interesting and fun and some of them had this to say:

I came here late, despite that, I achieved my purpose. As in good concept from the instructors with patience in response. Love you. Keep it up!

IKULAYO CHARLES
The co-coordinator of the program has really kept to his words. Despite the difficulties with venue when we started, he settled that calmly. Tayo [Java instructor] has been good. Being with him has been fun too. Wish we had more time! The coordinator’s humility and calmness really made the program worth it.

SAMUEL AJIBOLA
Epower has truly been seriously awesome. It’s given me the opportunity to meet new people, learn new skills and also have fun. I’ll definitely say the e-power program is all I expected it to be and more. Shout outs to Mr Gbenga [C.E.O], Mr. Femi [Video] and to all my graphics and video peeps.

I don’t know how to psyche people but to be realistic, epower, you are good and there is more to learn from you other than computers like learning to talk, think, keep quiet and many others. You are a model.

OLAJIDE JOSHUA
It’s a pleasure attending e-power, and there was no regret at all. Kudos to the web-design tutor and graphics.

OLASUPO CHRISTOPHER
It was wonderful. It was really eye opening! The whole program was worthwhile and I would like to continue with another program next time. I would also like the time for each class to be about 3-4 hours!

Finally,
ONE: we give all glory to God for the experience. We will not relent. There’s more to come.
TWO: we wish all our students good luck/God-speed as they journey through [and ultimately conquer] the waters of multimedia and life in general.
THREE: to our facilitators, thank you so much for inspiring destinies. The sky is your starting point.
FOUR: to all our agents, fellowships, fellowship heads/excos who gave us a chance and made the publicity/marketing possible, we say thank you.
FIVE: and to the unseen heroes who pasted posters/stickers in the dark, and ran errands in the day [Christopher, Wale, Dara and some agents] ,our ever loving friends Sarah and Olumide, and to every other person that supported this program, we cannot thank you enough, God bless you. Love you. See you at the top.
