From business analyst at Konga to building a potential $50 million furniture business: Sheriff Shittu

Entrepreneurship isn’t  just about making profit or making people believe that they need what they actually do not need, it is about solving human problems in a smart, innovative way thereby making the world a better place. A company which refuses to create innovative solutions to human problems may die gradually but will die eventually.

The dazzling story of the former Konga business analyst, Sheriff Shittu who is also a home decoration zealot exemplifies our definition of the word ‘Enterpreneurship’.

Sheriff Shittu, vast in crafting outstanding furniture designs started after he encountered the problem of recruiting furniture fabricants that can accurately replicate his erstwhile furniture acquisitions while moving to his new Lekki home.

image which started exactly 30 days after the idea was conceived serves as an organized market place for furniture makers and buyers. provides a regular supply of customers for the makers while the furniture makers pays a certain commission to in return. prides itself as ‘your preferred online showroom for all your home and office furniture goods’.

For the sake of emphasis, the biggest key to entrepreneurship is identifying a problem in the society and creating a smart, innovative solution while giving the customers a transformational customer experience. Gone are the days when the customer needed to hunt down the best furniture makers via their own effort. Online shopping is fast replacing the traditional methods of procurement. makes your furniture available in 24-hours (for ready-made furniture) while custom orders are delivered to you between 10-17 days.

According to Sheriff Shittu, “You do not have to worry about chasing carpenters around, and whatever you see is what you get; our goal is that you do not have to break your bank to gain access to quality furniture”

Another important lesson to learn from Sheriff Shittu is this: dont beat about the bush in trying to solve problems, but rather, solve problems you are passionate about. It takes a passionate and fiercely determined man not to be backed into a corner in the journey of entrepreneurship.

If you are passionate about technology, its best to solve problems in technology; if its clean energy, then pursue clean energy; if its waste management, then go after it. When you’re stuck, your passion will keep you going.

As part of’s long term goal, Sheriff said “We are looking at building to become Nigeria’s biggest online furniture platform; we are hopeful that in the next 5 years, we should be able to build a company worth nothing less than 50 million dollars in terms of value we have delivered to customers, the revenue we generate, the number of goods that we sell and the number of millionaires that we would have created from the network of furniture makers we have on board”.

image is currently Nigeria’s hottest startup producing the best customer experience for the Nigerian furniture industry, and with their passion and enthusiasm, doggedness and tenacity, we really think they are more than capable of disrupting the industry.
